This website and the patterns I bring to you would not be possible without the hard work and sharp eyes of my sample knitters. Below is a little bit about each one along with pictures of the wonderful projects they have knit for me.

Thank you all so much!

Sailors Rib Socks

Jane lives in Siler City,a small town that is approximately 45 miles from Raleigh, North Carolina. She works at the University of North Carolina as a Research Nurse. She is married and has a grown daughter (no grandchildren) and a precious cocker spaniel named Abby of whom she says, "She is the absolute love of my life and my very best friend!"
Jane was taught to knit 40 years ago by her typing/shorthand teacher. A couple years ago, she saw a lady in the waiting area of the hospital knitting socks. After talking to her about knitting socks, Jane couldn't wait to get to the yarn shop and has been addicted ever since. "They are so much fun and portable. Abby and I love the beach, so my sock projects are great for beach going!"

Cheri lives in California and loves to knit socks of all sizes.

She knits for charity, especially for the Santa Train that has traveled, every year, since 1943 from Kingsport, TN up through Virginia, into Kentucky.

Visit www.kingsportchamber.org for more information and a map of this great charity.

Cheri also enjoys knitting children's vests and baby items. Right now she is having a ball crocheting baby booties in a sorts of colors.

She has been a great help with the editing of both the Holiday Peerie and Gansey socks and is currently at work on another sock design.

Cables and Lace Stole

Fran knit this stole for me in record time! Of herself she says:

I'm Fran Scott, granny10@hamiltoncom.net. Knitting is my one passion in life. I learned to knit when a local yarn store (now out of business) gave knitting lessons. My first project was a sweater for my oldest daughter, then 5 years old. With that one sweater I was totally addicted.

I have knit for 37 years. I guess you might say Aran sweaters are my favorite thing to knit. But I like to knit anything except socks on DPNs. I don't mind socks on 2 circular needles, just not the DPN part.

I have 4 grown children, 12 grandchildren + 1 on the way.

I live in a small farming town in southern IL, 300 miles south of Chicago. I work full time in the ped department of a 176 bed health center.

I live with a parakeet Woodstock & a cockatiel Juble.

Besides knitting I pass my time reading mysteries, traveling, and singing in 3 choirs. One of my goals in life is to be able to say I have driven in every state in the USA. So far I have 35 states & Canada I can brag about. Yes, I look for Yarn stores along the way.

Vicki was a great help in getting my lacey designs off to a good start. This pattern had problems and Vicki was able to re-design on the fly and point out my errors in the kindest way. Of herself she says:

I'm a self-taught knitter and have been knitting for 13 years now. I'm also a crocheter (very fast at it) and a handspinner (1 year).

My favorite things to knit are lacy shawls and scarves, socks, bags and purses (I love felting too!) and teddy bears and soft dolls. I also knit baby items for charities like CIC, Newborns in Need, and the Ships Support Project.

I am a born-again Christian mom who also homeschools 2 of my 3 kids. My DH is amazed at how I find time to do my fiber arts projects. I just do since it's my only form of relaxation.

She resides in California.

Knit by Kelly in VA

Kelly and Chewy
momholdschewy.jpg

Kelly is a retired member of the United States Navy, who spends all of her free time doing the one thing she loves as much as she loved the sea.... Knitting.  She knit these socks up in record time along with another that will be on display soon - no hints <G>

She is lucky enough to live with her husband of many years, Michael, and her two wonderful parents Mike and Pat in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  They are all lucky enough to be allowed to live with two cats and a dog; as anyone who has pets knows, it's really their house.  Guinness is a 10 year old Egyptian Mau and Smaointe is a 7 year old Tortie. Kelly is shown above holding Siohban, a 6 month old Black Lab who just thinks she is a cat.
