Sweden Socks
I call these my Sweden Socks because they were knit for an exchange on one of the sock lists
that I'm on and my exchange partner lives in Sweden. These socks were knit with 4 oz of handspun Merino/Ecospun hand-dyed
by Sandy Sitzman of www.woolgatherings.com fame.

Round Socks
The free pattern for this month is a pair of socks in worsted weight yarn. These socks feature a round (French)
heel and a modified round toe (hence the name.) This pattern is written for the beginner and is suitable for a first sock
project. A more advanced sock knitter will find this pattern an “instant gratification” project. Add stripes or
motifs as you like – this pattern is “vanilla” enough to inspire all sorts of variations.

Mom's Socks
These socks had their beginning last
Christmas when my Mom asked for a pair of socks, in “subdued colors” to keep her feet warm. She wanted to be able
to wear them with tennis shoes and they had to be long enough to “cuff.” This is what I came up with. These socks
feature a ribbed leg, heel worked in “heel stitch” for snugness and a stockinette foot.

Left/Right Sox
Here’s a small project for those summery days when you don’t want a heavy knitting
project sitting in your lap. Use up those scraps of worsted weight wool and turn out several pairs to be doled out when the
cold winds blow.
| Short-Row Heel Socks |

|
These socks are a great introduction to the Short
Row Heel. Many thanks to Robley Brown for showing me that SR heels can work, and can fit my feet. Worked in worsted weight
yarn, these socks are nice and thick and knit up quickly.
| Double Rectangle Poncho |

|
This is the easiest of
the poncho shapes for the beginner. It can be worked with any yarn, any size needles, loose and lacey or thick and warm. Add
some cables or a lace pattern and create an original work of art. The options are many. If you’d like to add lace or
cables to this pattern, e-mail me and I’ll work up a chart for you.
